He headed to Fort Sam Houston in Texas with three other friends from school early on August 11th. Before he left we were in a mad panic to get everything done. Josh also decided to cut his hair real short- army style.
Before
After
We (the kids and I) stayed at home until the next Tuesday, when we drove up to Utah. I was very nervous about making the long drive by myself, but the kids were really good. Originally Josh was schedule to come home on September 6th, so I was going to have to make the drive back alone too. But by some miracle, (or lots of prayers!) his orders were changed to September 3rd. He was even able to fly into SLC instead!
We stayed at my parents' house the whole time. I'm sure they were so sick of us by the end, but we had a wonderful time. My sister Lindsay stayed with us the first week. It was SO much fun having here there. She'll be the BEST mom. I think she took all the creativity in the family. Avery had a blast with her! Sadly I didn't get any pictures of them together.
One night we went to the Davis County Fair. It was HOT. I couldn't believe it. Avery's favorite part was the petting zoo. It was pretty fun!
