Since we have moved to Las Vegas, we have received some bad news. I've visited our Perinologist 3 times in the past 2 weeks. When I first went in, they said the fluid around the baby was really low. I was told to come back every week to get checked out until I delivery. This Tuesday when I went in for my weekly appointment, they almost sent me to the hospital. The normal fluid around a baby is 15 cm, mine was only 7 cm. I was sent home to be on bed rest and drink a gallon or two of fluid a day. Today when I went in again, the fluid was still around 7 cm. What WONDERFUL news it was!!! I'm out of the hospital at least until next week. So now its every Tuesday and Friday to the doctor's office to get scanned!
My Doctor said that this is pretty common with babies with gastroschisis. He also said that is why my stomach is smaller than most at 26 weeks. I'm trying my hardest to make it normal size!! I appreciate so much every one's phone calls, thoughts and prayers! If you have any ideas about fun things do from the couch all day, please let me know. I am dying here!

Oh Hilary! I'm so sorry! Bed rest does NOT sound fun! I know I told you before, but my sister had a gastro baby. I remember her having to go to the doctor a lot. If you ever wanted to talk to her, let me know, because I know she got to talk to some Mom's with similar situations, and it made her feel a lot better about things. I'm sure she'd love to talk to you! That's something you could do from the couch! : )
Oh Hil No fun being on bedrest! Ill keep my fingers crossed that the levels dont drop anymore and that they start increasing:) Hope Vegas is so much fun!! Your in my thoughts and prayers!!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your bad news and bed rest. One or two gallons a day?! I bet you don't stay on the couch long with that much fluid intake! We will keep praying for you three. I just can't even imagine YOU on bedrest - my busy little bee. But you better listen to your doc and take it easy kay Hil? Love ya!
Maybe you could start writing your Christmas cards early this year? :-) It's just an idea. Or even better, crochet or cross-stitch all Christmas presents. That'd take time.
Mom and Dad sent a box down with Kes and Jana. I've been praying for you! I hope you don't go crazy on bed rest. I love you!
Kade says you should watch America's Test Kitchen, Everyday Food, and Everyday Baking on PBS on Saturdays to pass the time. Those are his favs. He also says he'll send you a new cookbook if you watch it. What a kid! We love you and pray for you guys every night, Kade makes sure.
Oh Hil!! I am sorry girl...I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
As far as the bed rest...I know someone once who said that watched a movie that started with each letter of the alphabet in order. That made them spend the time to look for a movie with each letter on their laptop and then their hubby had to go and find a place to rent them all...... That could be expensive in the end but you could do it on a smaller scale maybe! I am not very good with ideas sorry! But I wish you the best of luck on the entertainment.
i'm so sorry about the bad news hil. i hope things start lookin up! i've got seasons of just about anything you could want...friends, scrubs, the office, gilmore girls. if you send me your address, i would be happy to send you a little package! who doesn't love getting mail?
I definitely know what being confined to the couch can be like... I was too weak do do anything but sleep & watch TV, but since I've been in this desk job I've discovered some great online games: www.characterarcade.com has a ton, & http://mrallen.com/scramble/ really gets you thinking!
Good luck, & you'll be in our prayers!
Hil~ you and yours are in our prayers, too!
Hilary! I am so sorry to hear you're having such a hard pregnancy. I wish you the best of luck with everything. That baby girl will be so worth it. I had to laugh that you took a picture of Josh on his 1st day of school. You are going to be such an awesome mom! I feel so bad that I wasn't able to come to your shower and see you before you moved. Please send me your new address so I can send you and that sweet baby something. (I was at Toys R Us the other day and saw the game Hands Down and thought that you should own it :) I want you to know you're in my thoughts. Love ya Hil!
Oh man, this little girl will know how much you love her even before you've met her! The sacrifices of motherhood know no bounds! I can't exactly say that I have any great advice except for try to make the time down productive...may sound weird but you could try doing the church indexing, or some serious blogging/journal keeping. That way you would feel like you were doing something worthwhile rather than just wasting time away which can really start to wear on you. Good luck, if I hear of any great books/games I'll let you know!
