I can't believe that December is almost half way over. Christmas will be here before we know it!!
December 6th- We picked out a christmas story and read it as a family.
December 7th- Avery made a Christmas craft. This was the first craft project we had really ever done together. She LOVED it. She is so proud of her Christmas necklace and wants to wear it everywhere. Most days I can convince her just to wear it at home!
December 8th- We made Christmas treats for friends. I did most of it while Avery slept. She loves the kitchen but it's a little hard to have her help still. I found a delicious sugar coated almond recipe and a pretty good caramel recipe. The caramel would have been better if it cooked for a minute or two more!
December 9th- We delivered the goodies to some friends. I forgot to take picture of either event!
December 10th- We attend the Live Nativity as a family. It was one of the highlights of the Christmas season. It was so wonderful. It was great to have a chance to really imagine what it was like for Mary and Joseph. Boy, we sure have it easy!
There were so many beautiful nativity sets from all over the world. It was wonderful!
December 11th- We attend the Lakes Festival of Lights. This was a MAJOR let down. It was advertised as a community event, but it was really quite lame! We had fun with our friends who came with us!
December 12th- Avery got to open her first present of the Christmas season. It was a Curious George Christmas story. (Thanks Dennis Family!) She loves it so much and I think it was read 5+ times.
December 13th- Today begins our 12 days of Christmas celebration. Instead of having presents to open each day, we decided it would be best to read about the best present we all have received, Jesus Christ. Each night, we have scripture verses that testify of our Lord. Tonight we read in Isaiah. He testified many years before of the Savior's divine mission and birth.
We also went to a dental wives playgroup today. Thank you Rebecca for hosting! It was a wild party with 11 moms and 18 kids and 3 kiddos on the way! I didn't get picture of everyone, but here's some of the action of the day!
the masterpiece!
