Lil' Peanut

Yesterday when I went to see Avery, I met with the Occupational Therapist (OT). She said every day I should have kangaroo care time with Avery. Ave is the sweetest little spirit to hold in my arms. I treasure these moments with her. I also was able to give Avery her first real bath. The nurses have given her sponge baths, but I was able to was her in a plastic tub. She loved the warm water. It was so wonderful.

Avery is getting better everyday. She seems like she's returning to her old self! We are on Day 24 of Ave's stay in the NICU. Hopefully, she'll be able to start eating this week and have a bowel movement. She hasn't done either since she was born. The bile coming out of her vygon tube is almost yellow, which is a great sign! While I was holding her today, I felt her fart. I almost jumped up and down with excitement! I NEVER thought that I would be so excited for a fart. (I hate that word!).
